A high quality gold and micromosaic parure comprising a necklace and a pair of pendant earrings. The set was made in the early 19th Century in Rome and was gifted to Major Howe by Pope Pius VII. The necklace is composed of 8 plaques depicting ( from the center ) the Pantheon, the Tomb Cecilia Metella, the Temple of Vesta. 1810 c.a.
